About the NKTI Academy
The National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) is a tertiary medical specialty center formerly known as the National Kidney Foundation of the Philippines. It was created with a three-fold mission of Service, Training, and Research primarily for the benefit of the Filipino people in pursuance of the policy of the State to secure the well-being of the people by providing them with specialized health and medical services.
Aligned with NKTI’s commitment to healthcare excellence is its continuing expansion and growth in terms of infrastructure and patient services. The NKTI also provides medical and non-medical learning and development programs for its internal stakeholders in support of the achievement of its MVOs and to its external stakeholders who wish to develop and enhance their competencies in renal, urological, and transplantation management.
The NKTI Academy is an integrated L&D system designed to drive the talent development goals of the Institute. It will harmonize talent development activities, plans, and programs for individuals, teams, and the organization. Moreover, the Academy will provide talent development programs for internal (officers and employees of the Institute) and external clients (medical, medical allied, and other professions related to hospital operations).
The initiative to develop and establish the NKTI Academy is mainly driven by the NKTI’s desire to develop learning and development programs for its workforce to meet its core and strategic objectives. The establishment of the said initiative was also motivated by the desire of the Institute to achieve the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PrIME-HRM) Level 4 – Strategic Human Resource Management, Performance Governance System’s (PGS) “Institutionalization Stage” with a GOLD Governance Trailblazer Award, and the elusive Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Level 4 – Performance Excellence.
As the Institute continues to fulfill its mandate, L&D at NKTI remains a key strategy in the accomplishment of its MVOs. With the NKTI Academy, the Institute will continue to fulfill its mandates — Service, Research, and to provide the highest level of TRAINING.
Specific objectives of the NKTI Academy:
- To support the SUCCESSION PLANNING MANAGEMENT of the Institute by developing and implementing competency-based L&D interventions designed to prepare high-potential employees for key/critical leadership positions.
- To increase the ENGAGEMENT of employees by providing opportunities for competency development programs.
- To address PERFORMANCE GAPS in its workforce by designing and facilitating capacity-building activities.
- To provide OPPORTUNITIES for EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS (Medical Professionals and other Medical Allied Professionals) for competency development programs in Kidney & Urologic Diseases & Organ Transplantation (KUDOs) Management, and
- To establish its EMPLOYER BRAND as a reputable and respectable employer that values opportunities for professional development which are communicated to all L&D stakeholders through employee value proposition and employer branding.
